Fluoride
Why do some people disapprove of adding fluoride to drinking water?People disapprove of adding fluoride to drinking water because they did not test the fluoride for safety, efficacy, or any health-care problems. Also there is a fear that it may cause health problems, and a general resistance to the idea of compulsory mass medication which takes away an individual’s right to choose.
What would your position be on adding fluoride to drinking water and why? I would not mind it that much. From what I know of it all it does is help my teeth. I could understand the harmful effects if I drink a lot of water at once. I would want some tests to be run before I add it to my water
What technological advances in toothpaste had to be made before fluoride could be widely used in toothpaste and mouthwashes? They had to figure out what fluorides effects were and what could happen in the long run. They also had to figure out what it could be used for.
What side effects of using fluoride in drinking water are of most concern to you? Why? The side effects that most concern me are the long term effects. I would want to know if it will hurt my body or help my body. If it hurts my body i would want to know how it hurts it. If it helps my body I want to know how it helps.
